Only the second monkey award is adjustable. This feature carries over from game to game. End-of-ball bonus scores 20 points or 200 when lit. Maximum displayed point score is 1,999 points.

Unlike other Gottlieb games of this period, 'Tropic Isle' has no option for 3-ball play. Wayne Neyens tell us that the name of this game while it was being engineered was 'Monkey Shines' but David Gottlieb had the name changed. See the image in this listing marked "Engineering Prototype".
