Historical Notes

The Add-a-ball version of this game is Gottlieb's 1974 'Free Fall' which was exported to Italy as Gottlieb's 1974 'Sky Dive'. Wayne Neyens told us that the N188PA on the backglass airplane is the registration number of the plane that his son owned around the time of this game. Wayne told the artist to put this number on the backglass airplane as a lark. We show a date for this game of May 1974. One piece of Gottlieb documentation shows a date for this game of April 1975 but Cash Box May-25-1974 page 48 states the game is in full production and that operators were invited to visit their nearest Gottlieb dealer. Gottlieb's documentation may have intended to indicate April 1974. Price to operator: $705 FOB Chicago, per newsletter from authorized distributor dated March 1974.
