Historical Notes
This is the first game to have Gottlieb's famous phrase on the backglass: Amusement Pinballs, as American as Baseball and Hot Dogs! The last game to have it is the woodrail version of Gottlieb's 1960 'Flipper'. Much of the game pictured here has been repainted red. The pictures are included to show the style and shape of the cabinet. Its coin door is likely not original to this game as it has the old style of coin return guide. Starting with 'Marathon', new dome-shaped coin return guides were used, although we don't know if its use began at start of production or, less likely, during production. We are seeking hi-res pictures of this game, inside and outside, to include showing the original factory cabinet art, wood trim, and coin door. For this game and all Gottlieb multi-player games of the 1950s that had the large, curved wooden lockdown bar, we are seeking a photograph of the area underneath the lockdown bar when it is removed, as in this example of Toreador. Ideally, this picture would include the card holder with original factory cards in it, including the name card.
