This game is the version of Gottlieb's 1976 'Ship Ahoy' made for export to Italy. The replay version of this game is Gottlieb's 1976 'Buccaneer'. Reportedly, this game had a knocker for announcing extra balls. Gottlieb Domestic & Export Sales Sheets for High Seas: 380 total Domestic Sales: 0 Export Sales: 380, all of them went to Italy. The above total does not include 2 Sample games produced in 1976 per handwritten documentation identified by Wayne Neyens as coming from Bob Malvasio, a draftsman for Gottlieb whose initials RHM can be found on schematics.
