Historical Notes

Artist Marc Raneses told us that Morgan Weistling did the backglass and playfield art. Marc did the screen print production for the playfield and cabinet, and "the dots". The full name of this game, The Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition, is found on the cabinet sides, the instruction cards, and the game manual. The abbreviated name, Star Wars, is found on the backglass, the cabinet front, and on the playfield underneath the cardholder. In an online discussion in 1997, Orin Day stated that Neiman Marcus sold a "Collector's Edition" of this game in their Fall catalog (presumably that year). We don't have any pictures of it and don't know how many were in that edition, but Nieman Marcus had twelve "Collector's Edition" made of Sega's 1997 'The X Files' where in that listing pictures of it can be seen.
