Stern Pinball, Inc. made this game as "Private Label" for a specific company to be sold by them. The playfield layout first appeared on Stern's 2019 'Star Wars (Original Home Edition)'. This game is themed to commemorate the 300th issue of Heavy Metal magazine. An exclusive variant cover edition of issue 300 was included with every machine. The music on this game features original recordings from Sebastian Bach and Brendon Small in addition to tracks from the Heavy Metal movie original soundtrack including Blue Oyster Cult and Cheap Trick.
