Historical Notes
Same playfield as Midway's 1963 'Race-Way'. We find no manufacturer ads for 'Champ', only three one-line distributor mentions in May-June-July of 1964, the latter two offering it at a "special" price. Without more definitive information, we use the date of the schematic diagram to say that 'Champ' followed 'Race-Way' in production. Its schematic diagram is dated 11-25-63 which suggests a date for this game of December 1963 or early 1964, ahead of those "special prices". 'Champ' was designed to end the game only for the player who tilted. The schematic diagram in this listing is clearly marked by Midway as "Two Tilt" probably in acknowledgement that some/most 'Race-Way' games were made with only one tilt circuit that would end the game for both players if only one player tilted.
