Roger Sharpe

1976–1985

The man who saved pinball. In 1976, Roger Sharpe demonstrated to a New York City council that pinball required skill — not chance — effectively lifting the 35-year ban on the game. His contribution to the hobby's survival is inestimable. Sharpe also designed machines for Williams and Gottlieb in the early solid-state era.
